Presentiamo il  Router Asus WL-500G Premium. Un dispositivo
multifunzione che amplia le funzionalita' demandate dai normali router Wi-Fi. Il Router è basato sul collaudato chipset Broadcom (lo stesso usato da linksys nella sua fortunata serie WRT54G). L'Asus WL-500G Premium non integra un Modem ADSL ma dispone di porta
WAN, e' quindi perfetto per l'uso in cascata all'hag di Fastweb, mentre
con altri ISP e' necessario dotarsi di modem ADSL con connessione Ethernet per usufruire della funzionalita' di connessione e condivisione
Internet fra i PC collegati ad esso.

La confezione
Il WL-500G Premium è imballato in un colorato e robusto box di cartone con riportate le caratteristiche tecniche salienti, il modello, la certificazione Wi-Fi, ed i riconoscimenti ottenuti da riviste e siti del settore. Al suo interno troviamo, oltre al router, l'alimentatore da 5V e 2Ampere, un' Antenna snodabile migliore dei classici gommino da 2db (stimabile sui 4/5db), un cavo di rete per il collegamento wired (Cat.5e UTP), ed una copia cartacea della guida rapida di installazione multilingua. Come spesso capita anche per altri prodotti, la guida completa è contenuta unicamente in formato PDF nel CD-ROM a corredo.
