Welcome to the Public Internet Project. We are a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the evolution and development of public Internet access.
Our latest project has been the operation of the most famous WiFi hotspot in the world, Bryant Park.
Ok, maybe that doesn't mean much to most of you, however, to us, that's pretty cool stuff.

So, when Intel decided to prominently featured the Bryant Park Wireless Network in one of their National WiFi ads, everyone smiled. To Intel's credit, they sponsor the Bryant Park Wireless Network back in 2002 as a tie in with the launch of their Centrio/WiFi Ad campaign.
For those of you that don't know already, the Public Internet Project specializes in the development of innovative uses of wireless Internet technologies. So, when we are not in the park, we conduct research surveys on wireless security and on the growth of WiFi (802.11b/g).
